Immunity Shots with carrot ginger lemon + garlic!

For the first part of this week I was struggling in a bad way. A little bug got me and it got me good. I don’t know where it came from, I certainly didn’t ask for it and definitely did not see it coming. I was trying to keep up in every way possible. It was hard for me to get out of bed let alone cook, write, photograph, coach, play, eat and sleep.

I’m a pretty busy gal so the thought of getting sick is frightening. But the universe served it up good to me and this week all I had the energy for was laying in bed with my cat, Maybe, drinking cup after cup of herbal tea and reflecting on how lucky I am to be a {generally} healthy person. And that, I should not take for granted.

So what’s in this little elixir anyway . . .

Carrots – naturally sweet, adding plenty of sugar to the mix, keeping the flavors well balanced and easy on your palate. Plus these little guys are chocked full of antioxidants, beta carotene and Vitamin  A which are vital in supporting your immune system.

Ginger – super anti-inflammatory properties bringing relief to those horrid body aches and soothe away that nausea.

Lemon – loaded with Vitamin C to boost that immunity and balance your body’s pH levels.

Garlic – now this is the key ingredient here, with a long history as an immune system booster because of its antiseptic, anti-fungal + nutritive properties. This ingredient you can’t leave out or substitute, but I promise you, the strength of the ginger + lemon juice with the sweetness of the carrots, the garlic taste will be oh so subtle. Really, I promise.
