A chocolate peach milkshake.

Maybe an unlikely combination?

I’m not sure.

To me it seems like a natural one.

Not too sweet chocolate.

With really ripe, sweet peaches.

A bit of salt.

And a bit of crunch.

It all sounds pretty perfect actually.

And you know I’m a fan of not too sweet, desserts.

Also, dessert with salt finishes.

And this milkshake encompasses all of that.

I used Dutch Chocolate Swell Ice Cream for a perfect three-ingredient shake. It is just chocolate ice cream, sweet peaches and crunchy cacao nibs. Then I topped it with really simple and easy to make, olive oil macerated salty peaches. And, a touch of cacao nibs. Because, we all need a little extra crunch sometimes.

I’m not really into national food days. But, I am definitely into national food months. And, July is National Ice Cream month – so let’s celebrate! I’m gonna be treating myself and cooling off from this Midwestern heat with a chocolate peach milkshake more than once or twice. It’s good enough for a simple dessert and balanced enough for an afternoon snack.

Swell Ice Cream comes in a variety of flavors, of which I’ve tried nearly all. My favorites include: Mint Chip, Salted Caramel Crunch, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and of course, Dutch Chocolate. It’s creamy, smooth, and has real ice cream texture.
