Summer cocktails should have the right balance of seasonality and ease. They need a bit of personality, a punch of flavor and a distinct spirit to bring it altogether. This cherry gin smash checks all of those summer cocktail boxes. It’s lightly sweetened with local honey, loaded with fresh muddled cherries and topped with sparkling water.
This post is in partnership with Prairie Organic Spirits and intended for an audience of 21+. I was first introduced to Prairie Organic a few years ago when I lived in the Midwest. I’ve continued to keep them as a bar shelf staple for their core values and dedication to our environment.
Prairie Organic Spirits is a true pioneer in the organic spirit space. They were the first USDA Certified Organic spirits brand. They remain the number one brand in the organic category today. Beyond their commitment to using organic ingredients, they’re dedicated to furthering the future of organic farming. Their newly launched Spirit of Change Fund contributes one percent of sales to help more farmers go organic.
This cherry gin smash tastes great for two reasons. Its simple, seasonal fresh summer ingredients. And the unique flavor of Prairie Organic’s corn-based gin. Craftsmanship is at the heart of the Prairie Organic brand, which includes each ingredient that goes into every bottle.
How to make a gin smash.
It’s incredibly easy to assemble this summer cocktail. First fill a glass with a small handful of cherries with a drizzle of honey, and then muddle for a few seconds. Then combine those muddled cherries with the gin and ice in a cocktail shaker, and shake. Then pour it in a glass of your choice, top it with sparkling water and enjoy responsibly.
